About the Team
The Code Lifecycle Engineering team develops software and tools to support all of Workday Application Development. We own the development pipeline for delivering a developer experience that provides reliable and useful feedback for merging code with confidence; and we are passionate about improving developer productivity.
About the Role
Become a Software Engineer in our Tooling organization, at the foundation of Workday’s technology, building software that empowers engineering teams to develop and deliver high quality products quickly. Our team currently serves the 2000+ Workday development community by providing scalable development tools that are vital to support an efficient and continuous delivery platform. We are a team of highly skilled full-stack engineers capable of performing tasks at any level of our technical stack, within the AWS Cloud platform. Our work is not driven by external product launches, but is driven by the needs of our development community, which allows us to focus on producing well thought out solutions that improve our development environment and pipeline.
You will responsible for building and scaling the platform that collects, parses, and stores log data generated across all of Workday’s Application Development runs, configurations, and test executions.
  • Develop components, APIs and interfaces for Tools and Applications to integrate with our data
  • Parser systems processing Terabytes of data for ingestion and user analytic consumption
  • Owning and managing our MongoDB Atlas clusters that support our Workday tools and services
  • Support ML system integrations around our data
  • Design and implement solutions for collection, aggregation and analysis of structured and unstructured data sources across our AWS cloud platform and on-premise environments
  • Build out our Tools Metrics Platform to provide reporting and insights into our services and infrastructure, system and tools metrics, monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting capabilities
About You
Basic Qualifications
  • 4 years of software development experience
  • Experience with Application development and how to solve problems and writing clean code.
  • 1 years of applied experience using MongoDB
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Platform
Other Qualifications
  • Proficient writing queries, performance tuning, and design for NoSQL platform
  • 3+ years programming experience in Java, Python or comparable language
  • 2+ years in writing scripts for processing large data sets
  • Experience using AWS data related services: S3, RDS, Athena, Quicksight, Data Lake, etc
  • Experience developing scalable web service APIs
  • Strong Unix skills
  • Expert skills working with SQL queries, including performance tuning, utilizing indexes, and improving query performance
  • Experience working with JavaScript libraries such as ReactJS, Node.js, or jQuery
  • Able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and issues to non-technical teams.
